Community Partnerships
The Center works in partnership with community organizations such as, Case Farms, WAGES, the Health Department, Police Department, public schools, local churches, and Wayne Community College, and East Carolina University on behalf of Hispanic/Latinos in Wayne County.Education
ESL
ESL classes (English as a Second Language) are offered through Wayne Community College at no charge to students.
Basic Computer Skills
Basic computer skills classes for community residents are also offered through Wayne Community College . (Depending on the type of class offered, there may be a small fee to cover the costs.) Specialized classes can be provided for employer sponsored needs as well.
Board Training
The HCDC also provides leadership training for its board members to help them affirm the Center’s direction, achieve its strategic goals, and to prepare and train the members to be able to provide the best services possible

HIV-Non-Traditional Testing Site
The center is a certified Non-Traditional HIV Testing Site (NTS) that offers a confidential FREE HIV testing and screening outreach program using the rapid HIV OraQuick Advance HIV-1/2 Antibody test and HIV/AIDS prevention classes facilitated by ECU nursing faculty in partnership with the Wayne County Health Department through the HIV Prevention/Education grant. Contact us for off-site testing.
BESO (Bookbags for Elementary School Outreach) Program
Bookbags filled with school supplies are provided to elementary age children in need that are enrolled in local schools every year at the begining of the school year. In 2009, 200 bags were distributed throughout the county.
